Frontend React Developer (Excel Plugin) Contract Remote (US-based)

This role focuses on building robust frontend solutions using React and TypeScript, integrating with Excel, and collaborating with backend teams working in Python. The ideal candidate is an engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality code and an interest in AI integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Microsoft Excel plugins using React and TypeScript for seamless integration and user experience.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate frontend components with Python -based APIs and services.
• Participate in the proof-of-concept phase, ensuring deliverables meet technical and functional requirements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to software engineering best practices.
• Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot and optimize plugin performance within the Microsoft Office ecosystem.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience in frontend development with React and TypeScript , delivering production-ready applications.
• Hands-on experience developing Microsoft Excel plugins or add-ins (e.g., using Office JavaScript API).
• Strong software engineering skills, including proficiency in writing modular, testable code and debugging complex issues.
• Familiarity with modern frontend tools, state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand), and UI component libraries.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote environment.
• US-based with legal authorization to work as a contractor.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of Python backends and experience integrating with RESTful APIs or similar services.
• Knowledge of AI integration , such as working with AI/ML APIs or embedding AI-driven features in applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence.
