We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner for a locum tenens opportunity in Mason City, Iowa. This role supports a busy orthopedic team with weekday coverage and on-call responsibilities, including rounding, consults, and OR assistance.
Position Overview:
Setting: Hospital-based Orthopedic Service
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Call Requirement: Yes (includes weekday call; no weekend requirement)
Weekend Requirement: None
EMR: (System not specified, training provided if needed)
Key Responsibilities:
Round on post-operative orthopedic patients
Respond to inpatient and emergency department orthopedic consults
Assist in the Operating Room as needed
Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons and hospital staff to manage patient care efficiently
Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible Nurse Practitioner
Active Iowa Nurse Practitioner License (or ability to obtain prior to assignment)
Experience in orthopedic surgery, inpatient rounding, and first assist preferred
Comfortable taking orthopedic call and working independently when needed
